Restoring Connections; Deepening Relationships

The times are urgent; let us slow down.

Dr. Bayo Akomolafe

At 8,500 feet in the Boulder Foothills, Wonder is a nature connection program, a variety of community initiatives, and a sanctuary for human and non-human flourishing.

Vision

Did you notice the noisy jays go silent as you approached? Did the soft soil of the creek-bed reveal any new tracks after the rain?  What texture and shape of leaves does the plant growing closest to your front door have?  Answering any of these questions requires a shift in focus, a change of pace.

Slowing down is radical. It can feel uncomfortable.  However, when our pace shifts and we allow our senses to guide us, we are most likely to encounter moments of awe and wonder.  We also have an opportunity to relate to a deeper experience of time, outside of the modern fixation on urgency and crisis. This is a world and a way still familiar to our children, where they are led by their curiosities.

Wonder works to foster connections and restore relationships with ourselves, others, and the earth, in an increasingly disconnected world. Our starting point is a celebration of the intricacy and diversity of the world and an acknowledgement of the pain and sadness at the rapid unraveling of her beauty and complexity.

We believe we have a responsibility to retell our modern story and we are working to be a catalyst in culture change.

How to Participate

Community

The Wonder Land is a stewardship project, in service to the human and non-human inhabitants, working to re-enforce regenerative cultural paradigms.

Wonder Nature Programs

Working with ages 5 and up, Wonder Programs explore ecology, movement, play, ceremony, and skill building towards deepening nature connection.

Rites and Retreats

We honor and host rites, seasonal celebrations, vision quests, solos, or other sacred rituals that heal, transform, reconnect, and deepen meaning.
